Today we will be taking a look at using an iPad Pro as a second display. Using the software created by Duet Display you get even more functionality out of your iPad, iPad Pro, and your iPhone.
Duet Display
Duet display is an iOs app that allows you to use your iOS device as a second display. It's 50% off at the time of this post (https://www.duetdisplay.com). Its more than a way to consume some media or keep your email open while you're working. Having your phone next to you will enable those simple tasks.
I use it, as you can see in the picture above, to display the grid view in Lightroom. Your device enables you to extend your desktop and select items with a mouse click, or simply touch to select. A clutter free desk is priceless!
There is no lag in my setup. I connect my iPad Pro's lightning connector to my PC's ubs 3.0 port. The mouse movements are instant. Even video playback is instantaneous. I was skeptical, but the experience is satisfying. I get to use what I already own, and my iPad stays charge by being connected.
How you use this app is only limited by your imagination. Duet Display saves you money by not needing to buy another expensive monitor. I think the screen size of a tablet is best suited for laptops. The developers motto is "Space Is A Beautiful Thing". For us minimalist it is a dream of an app.
